About Us
This Is Our Story
Founded in 1980, by Geoffrey Sherwood and Charles Logan as a manufacturers'
representative for over 10 different companies in the mid-Atlantic region, the company
has grown into one of the premier providers of water and wastewater treatment equipment.
Starting with just 6 employees, we now employ 37 in four offices from Virginia to Connecticut. SLA employees have over a collective 500 years of water/wastewater experience.
In 1984, we began S-L Controls, a division of Sherwood-Logan to focus on the need for quality systems integration services for the municipal water and wastewater market. We have provided nearly 1,500 instrumentation and control systems jobs exclusively to municipalities in the Mid-Atlantic region. These projects range from small pump station control panels to large plant wide SCADA control systems.
During the past 35 years, we have successfully increased our market share by delivering a wide variety of engineered instrumentation, process equipment, and pumping systems to meet our customers' needs. We have improved our staff in every discipline; engineering, production, field service, and project administration to address the more stringent water quality standards. Our sales and technical staff consists of degreed engineers, and licensed Professional Engineers (PEs), and respected water and wastewater professionals
In January of 2007, Sherwood and Logan successfully transitioned ownership to Nelson Bareis, Bob Fairweather, Steve Rogers and Ed Zalewski. In January of 2016, Patrick Foley and Jon Casarotti became Owners also. Our stable ownership and successful transition is unheard of in our industry leading to stability and continuity of business principals and continued success
